Variety rock spanning '60s to contemporary

In the beginning...

In the summer of 2007, former members of Electric Owl began a new project, auditioning new members to complete the band. After several lineup changes and reworkings of the repertoire, Under Review came to be.

[+/-] About Keith, vocalist and rhythm guitarist:

"Influnced by the music of The Beatles, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Ozzy Osbourne, I started playing guitar as a teen. Soon after, I began performing with the band Morning Glory; we played several gigs. I would eventually leave the band after marrying and having children.

In the early 2000s, I felt it was time to get back into the mix, and began playing in the band, Paladin. We played one gig before adding new members and changing the name to Electric Owl; when 3 members left that band we reformed as what it is now known as Under Review."

[+/-] About James, guitarist, vocalist :

" James "Skip" LaGrange first picked up a guitar in the late 60's and although he wasn't an overnight sensation, his persistent love for guitar music eventually paid off. Skip's strength is his knowledge of scales and chord voicings which gives him the versatility to play many styles of music, such as classical guitar, country, jazz fusion, blues, rag-time and especially classic rock., Skip's tight rhythm guitar parts and counter melodies is his best asset, but he can also rock out on lead as well. Professor "LaGrange" has two university degrees in music specializing in music theory and composition. Skip is the co-founder of chro_MAGIC Music Software that created "Guitaristics" and "Pianistics" music education software. Skip's duties are, mostly rhythm guitar and backing vocals but from time to time he takes lead guitar and lead vocals and can also play bass, harmonica and keyboards.

[+/-] About Greg, bassist:

"Greg “Superman” Lewis first picked up a guitar when he was 12 years old. It soon became apparent that his giant hands were better suited to a larger instrument, so he moved to the bass. For many years, Greg has provided the bottom end for numerous bands at clubs, festivals, parties and on live TV. Previous stints have included work with the Mad Dogs, NOLA Express and studio / session work. Always looking to add more than a heavy root-note beat, Greg adds groove to the bottom end in the style of John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin) and Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), along with backing vocals as needed."

[+/-] About Glenn, drummer, percussionist and backing vocalist:

"I've been playing drums since the age of 14; I played in 3 or 4 bands in high school. I kind of got busy with life and family and went a good while without much playing, although it was always in me. About 8 years ago, I gave in to my need to get back into it, and hooked up with a couple of different groups Pre- and Post-Katrina until finally finding complete audio satisfaction with Under Review.

At this stage of my life I'm making up for lost time with a second wind. I thrive on playing skins; it really is an adrenaline rush for me. I love to rock out, but I have a blast playing anything from blues, to soul, to rock, pop, top 40, from the 60's through the present. The ultimate for me is to have an audience have as much fun listening and rocking out as I am playing the skins. I feel that you can't put a price on that much inner satisfaction.

Ten years ago I couldn't have dreamed of doing this, but now that I am, I'm dedicated to totally rocking out everyone within earshot!"
